with Dr. Evan Thomas, DSW, LCSW
Dr. Evan Thomas is the Director of Reentry Operations and the Co-Founder of the FAITHS Throughcare Program, as well as a licensed clinical social worker. Dr. Thomas’s role at FAITHS involves leading reentry programming, public dissemination of impacts, curriculum development, organizing community projects, training and certifying new staff on the Ohio Risk Assessment System (ORAS) recidivism assessment, the criminal justice subject matter expert liaison for FAITHS involvement as a Criminal Justice Mental Health Learning Site for the Council of State Governments, and recruiting graduate-level interns from university partners. Before the FAITHS Throughcare Program launched, it was formerly the Parental Intervention Project where Dr. Thomas originally served as a class facilitator for the justice-involved population and legislative advocate. He also has past experience providing direct interventions to at-risk youth and individuals living with Autism. He received his doctoral degree and master’s degree in social work from California Baptist University, as well as his BA in Psychology.
